Ootoya
/When I have a weekend off, my family enjoys to go out to eat lunch. When I ask my son what's he wants to eat, his answer is often either UDON or SUSHI! He is only 3 years old, born and raised in Manhattan but he definitely has a Japanese tongue. I'm trying to teach him about Japan so I'm happy about his food choice. We often go to Ootoya for lunch. Ootoya is a company well known for Japanese home cooking restaurants in Japan, and all over Asia. Every time I go there, the taste and texture of the food is consistently good. This is really important for the food business but it's not easy to keep the quality consistently good. When I come back from Ootoya, I have the feeling as if I got back from Japan. Like I had a great time in Japan and I already miss it... Oh, and the good news from Ootoya is that they will be opening a restaurant in the Greenwich village location (11th st/University Place) soon.
私が週末休みの時はよく家族みんなでランチに行くんやけど、息子に、何食べたい?って聞くと、だいたい、うどんか寿司って言うねん。息子はまだ3歳やし、生まれも育ちもマンハッタンやけど、日本人の舌を持ってるわ。息子に日本の良さを伝え、好きになって欲しいと思ってる母としては彼の好きな食べ物のチョイスは嬉しいな。私達は良く大戸屋に行くねん。そう、あの日本にある大戸屋やけど、ニューヨークのは、オシャレ定食屋。ココの定食はほんま日本にいるみたいにいつ行っても美味しい。いつ行っても美味しいって、レストランビジネスをするうえでとても大切な事やけど、なかなか難しいみたいやな。大戸屋から帰ってくると、なんか、日本から帰って来た時の自分の気持ちに似てる。日本楽しかったなーー。でも、もう恋しいみたいな。。そういえば、大戸屋もうすぐ、Greenwichエリア(11th st/University Place)に新店舗がオープンするんやって!
