Goods Of Conscience 神父さんはファッションデザイナー

I attended a very interesting fashion show presented by Goods of Conscience. The founder and designer is  Fr. Andrew O'Connor. who is a priest in NYC!  I have never attended a fashion show like this. The great story and history behind Goods Of Conscience made for a great vibe. It was very welcoming, warm and peaceful.

先日、とても、興味深いファッションショウにご招待いただきました。デザイナーさんの名前は、Fr. Andrew O'Connor なんと彼は、神父さんです。ファッションラインの名前は、Goods Of Conscience　非営利団体です。ここ洋服に使われる布は、すべて、グワテマラでマヤ族の方々の手織。そのグワテマラで手織りされた布をニューヨークに持ち帰り、デザイン、製法などは全てニューヨークで行われています。グアテマラに伝わる特殊な布の織り方を守り、貧しいグワテマラの人々を助ける。Goods Of Consicienceの服を買い着るというシンプルな事に色んな意味が込められている。安い大量生産のファッションには、その服たちに纏わるストーリーがない。ですが、こうした、非営利団体の服一枚には、色んな人が関わり、色んな思いが込めれているのです。

ファッションショウは、今までに体験した事のないショウでした。他のゲストのおしゃれをお互いにチラ見してジャッジする様な人もいないし、すごい派手な人もいない。みなさんとても暖かみがあり、とても親切。私は、ファッションは好きなのに、ファッションショウを見に行くと、居心地が悪いと感じる事があるんですが、このショウはとても心地よく時間を過ごすことができました。
