My Projects Using Social Media この夏日本で行うプロジェクトの予定

We are in Japan now!  We are planning to stay here about 7weeks. My son is going to experience public school in Japan. I'm planning to have several projects while I'm here..  My first project is doing Pop-up hair salons in Kyoto and Tokyo. I wrote "Reasons Why I will open a pop-up salon in Japan" a few weeks ago.  

My second project is Online hair education for Japanese hairstylists. I have been using social media actively for about 3 years. I have about 20K followers on my Instagram. I get many direct messages from Japanese hairstylists. I realize many Japanese hairstylists are very interested in NY and dream of working in this city. This year, I organized a NY tour for Japanese hairstylists. They had a great time in NY. You can read about the tour here. 

After the tour, I came up with the idea of an online education class for Japanese hairstylists. I'm sure many people want to come here for my tour. But, it is not so easy because of cost and time. Yet, they can watch how we are doing hair in NY If they have the internet. I ask my co-workers and friends who are in the hair industry in NY if they are interested in teaching Japanese hairstylists. Many of them have a lot of passion for teaching and want to share what they know. Few weeks ago we shot several hair education videos in NY. These videos are very unique. They are for Japanese hairstylists. But, they will take the classes in English and Japanese. Instructors teach in English and I translate to Japanese. The reason why I'm doing this is that Japanese hairstylists can get familiar with English. I will visit four different areas of  Japan over the summer to meet Japanese hairstylists and talk about my online education class. 

 When I get a great idea. I usually talk to my husband Masashi Ohtsu first. He is a photographer, a videographer, a web designer and an artist.  He is always very supportive of my ideas and he can actually make it happen! I feel very lucky to be able to rely on him. This online education project is my family project. This include my community. This is my big project after I started using social media. If I didn't start using social media, this project wouldn't have happened. Many of this project's contacts are from my social media. I just started this project. However, If I can suggest to someone who is trying to build something from using social media. I would say trust your gut, your dream, never give up, keep using social media every day! 

昨日日本に到着しました！今回は、ワクワクドキドキが盛りだくさんでエキサイティングな日本滞在となりそうです。それは、息子にとっても同じ事で、日本の小学一年生を経験するんです！彼は、それをとても楽しみしています。以前、なぜ、息子に日本の小学校を体験させたいのかというブログ記事を書いたので、良かったらココから読んでみてくださいね。

私の日本滞在時のプロジェクト第一番目は、京都と原宿で行う期間限定サロン。これは、自身のソーシャルメディアのフォロワーさま達を対象にしていて、リアルに皆さんにお目にかかれて楽しいし、ワクワクするイベントです。今回のイベントはイメチェン。イメチェンをした事により、よりポジティブライフを送っていただける様になるといいなと思い、このイベントを企画しました。詳しくは、私が日本で期間限定サロンをやる理由を読んでくださいね。

そして、もう一つのプロジェクトもワクワクが止まらない企画：）日本にいらっしゃるニューヨーク好きな美容師さんに向けたオンラインヘア講習。このアイデアは、今年の初めに日本から美容師さん達に来ていただき、行った、大人美容師の合宿を行った経験から生まれました。日本には、ニューヨークが大好きな美容師さん達がたくさんいらっしゃり、そんな方達が実際にニューヨークに来てヘア講習を受けたり、現地の人たちと交流したりする事で、一皮も二皮も向け、より魅力的な美容師となり、飛躍されるのを目の当たりにしています。ニューヨークが好きな美容師さんには、是非実際にニューヨークに来ていただきたいと思いますが、飛行機代、ニューヨークの物価の高いホテル、美容師は休みを取りにくいなどのこともあり、そう簡単に来れるものではありません。ですが、オンラインなら、私たちがニューヨークで実際サロンワークをしているやり方を紹介出来る！その気持ちから、美容師さん向けのプロジェクト、英語DEヘア講習が生まれました。どうして、英語という言葉がヘア講習の前についているかというと、皆様には、ニューヨークで活躍する現地のヘアスタイリストから、英語で講習を受けていただきのです！どう？それって、ワクワクする？これをやる理由は、皆んなにワクワクをお届けしたい気持ちと、英語に対する恐れをなくし、英語に親しんで欲しいなという私の思いがあります。もちろん、全て英語で講習を受けるわけではなく、講師が英語で話したあとは、全て、ニューヨークでの美容師歴１０年の私、Rock Mamaが全て通訳しているので、ご心配なく：）ヘア講習のみではなく、ヘア講習を受けていただいた方々には、ソーシャルメディアサポートなどもさせていただき盛りたくさんの内容になっています。今年は、日本４箇所を訪ね、日本のニューヨーク好きな美容師さん達に会いに行く予定をしています。詳しくはhttps://www.rockmamanyc.com/online-hair-koshu/　をご覧くださいね。皆様にお目にかかれるのを楽しみにしています。

そして、私ごとですが、このプロジェクトが好きな理由は、もちろん皆様にワクワクが届けられ、皆さんの美容師としてのイメージアップをお助け出来る所にもありますが、私と夫で一緒に作りあげたというのも好きなところ。日系人の夫、大津正志は写真家でもありますが、映像、ウェブデザインの仕事もやっています。私が思い浮かべたアイデアを形にしてくれるのが夫なんです。そして、このオンラインヘア講習に参加してくれた美容師達は、ニューヨークで活躍し、有名な美容師達ですが、みんなプライベートでもお付き合いがある方々で、まさしく、Rock Mama ファミリーで作り上げたプロジェクトなんです。自分のライフスタイルが仕事になる。私の仕事の理想像の第一歩が始まりました。ワクワクしています：）
